The Iron Maidens were winners once again! Carey and I participated in the Greenville Mud Run on May 1st. We were joined by Jamie (Carey's friend from Greenville) and Jane (my friend from Athens).
It has been some what scandalous...We finished the course in 43 minutes and 3 seconds...an improvement of about 40 seconds over our 2009 time. However, late Monday we were given notice that another all female team had beaten us by about SEVEN MINUTES. For those of you who run, that is A LOT of time. This has been concerning me and Carey since we found out the news. We have been trying to figure out what we could have done to shave off some time.
Well, I checked the website tonight (http://www.t4tchallengerun.com/) and guess what? We actually WON our group. Apparently the team that supposedly beat us was not an all female team!
This does not mean that I do not want to shave some more minutes off of our time next year. We are going to be training heavily until the next event so that we can put our time out of reach for anyone that DARES to try and beat us.
